Mitchell Hansen

Mitchell Hansen is a music teacher and performer living in Las Vegas. He has taught at 3 different schools around Vegas, Las Vegas High School, Harney Middle School, and most recently Western High School. He also teaches private lessons at Music and Arts, and Family Music Centers in Las Vegas. Prior to COVID-19 Mitchell was the Music Director for the HighDesert Horns, the community Horn Choir in Las Vegas.

Besides playing with Pentagogical Brass, Mitchell also performs around Las Vegas with Red Rock Wind Quintet, and Twin Peaks Brass Quintet. Mitchell is a regular substitute horn for the Las Vegas Philharmonic. He also has performed with the Nevada Pops, Nevada Chamber Orchestra, the Henderson Symphony, The Nevada Ballet, and Sin City Opera. Recently, Mitchell was invited to audition for the Principal Horn positions with both the New York Philharmonic and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In 2021, Mitchell was the runner-up in the prestigious Northwest Horn Symposium’s Low Excerpt Competition.

Outside of music, Mitchell loves hiking, playing video games, and spending time with family. He loves watching hockey and supports the Golden Knights as well as the Blackhawks.
